Day Three of ADP Concludes With Team Red Holding off Team Navy

A competitive game saw Team Red win 6-3 with a combined 15 hits

CARY, N.C. - On the third day of the 2026 13U/14U Athlete Development Program (ADP) at the National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, Team Red picked up its second win of ADP with timely hitting, taking home a 6-3 victory over Team Navy.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Getting things started in the bottom of the first, Team Navy used a leadoff double from Carlos Murray Jr., and Jeremiah Doresey drew a walk to put two runners on. Christopher Worrell Jr. capitalized and lined a two-RBI triple to left field, opening the scoring.
  • Team Red responded instantly in the top of the second with a leadoff double from Hunter Kuhlman, followed by a hit-by-pitch. Jake Romero came up and smacked a two-RBI triple to left-center to tie the game at two. Team Red took the lead off a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch.
  • Team Red starter Nolan Bingham worked through three innings of two-run ball, tallying two strikeouts.
  • Tying the game in the bottom of the fourth, Team Navy used a walk drawn by Worrell Jr., who later came around to score on a wild pitch.
  • Starting the top of the fifth with back-to-back singles, Team Red used a single by Joshua Park that brought home two more runs. A defensive miscue on a pop fly allowed Park to score, extending Team Red's lead to 6-3.
  • Ben Wilson closed out the game for Team Red in the bottom of the seventh and worked a scoreless frame, finishing his day with two innings pitched and three strikeouts.

NOTABLE STATS:

  • Brooks Bennett threw 24 pitches, 17 of which were strikes for an impressive 71% strike percentage.
  • All three pitchers for Team Red recorded at least two strikeouts or more.
  • Romero and Park were tied for the team lead in RBIs for Team Red with two apiece.
  • Murray Jr. went 2-for-2 on the day with a run scored for Team Navy.
  • Pitchers started at-bats with a strike to 23 of 33 hitters.
