THE MATCHUP
The 15U National Team is set to take on Mexico for the sixth time in program history after the last meeting in 2019. The U.S. owns an unblemished 5-0 all-time record against Mexico with its first victory coming in the form of a 12-1 victory at the 2013 COPABE Pan Am “AA” Championships. The latest matchup between the two nations resulted in a Team USA 3-1 win at the 2019 WBSC Baseball World Cup Americas.
BRINGING THEM HOME
Through three games at the WBSC U-15 Pan American Championship, the U.S. boasts two players who lead the tournament in RBIs: Tristin Gaines and Nateo Victorio. The pair have brought home five runs apiece, complementing a U.S. offense that thrives on getting runners on the base path. Gaines has done most of his damage on a critical double and a pair of sacrifice fly outs while Victorio smacked a base-clearing triple in yesterday’s contest against Costa Rica.
CAN’T TOUCH THIS
In yesterday’s match versus Costa Rica, Greyson Bell was every bit of a difference maker. The flamethrower got the start on the mound and halted any offensive momentum from the opposing dugout. Bell, a lefty, went four innings of no-hit baseball to contribute to a five-inning no-hitter. He only yielded two walks while striking out an event-best eight batters throughout his outing.
ON THE BIG STAGE AGAIN
The 2025 15U National Team roster welcomes back five USA Baseball alumni who have prior experience in international competition. In 2022, the fivesome of Colin Anderson, Anthony Frausto, Gaines, Mateo Mier, and Trent O’Malley traveled with the 12U National Team to Tainan, Taiwan to compete in the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup. There, the group compiled 38 hits, 41 RBIs, and 12 homers to lift the 12U National Team to its fifth gold medal in program history.
BEEN THERE, DONE THAT
Frausto, a three-time USA Baseball alum, joins USA Baseball for the second consecutive summer after first cracking a USA Baseball roster with the 12U National Team in 2022. There, Frausto won a gold medal with the team and was named to the All-World Team as a first baseman. Following his stint with the 12U National Team, Frausto joined the 2024 15U National Team after earning a spot at Training Camp through USA Baseball’s 13U/14U Athlete Development Program (ADP). With the 2024 15U National Team, Frausto guided the stars and stripes to an unblemished record against Australia in an International Friendship Series. Now, Frausto enters his third stint with Team USA where he is set to provide a veteran presence to the team.
GOLD MEDAL TENDENCIES
The 2025 15U National Team features a staff full of familiar faces who have served the 15U National Team in a wide range of capacities. Drew Briese and Steve Butler, who both coached on the 2022 15U National Team, bring gold medal experience after winning the title at the 2022 V WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico. The duo helped guide the 15U National Team to an 8-1 overall record while also outscoring opponents 99-30 in nine games.
THE ROSTER
The 2025 15U National Team features a 20-player roster that boasts five USA Baseball alumni and 12 athletes who have prior involvement with USA Baseball’s 13U/14U Athlete Development Program (ADP).
In addition to the five alumni on the roster, 12 total players have experience participating in USA Baseball’s 13U/14U ADP, which is a program centralized around the development of amateur athletes on and off of the field. Anderson, Frausto, Noah Jarolimek, and Nateo Victorio all made the trip to Cary in 2023. Last year’s ADP saw Anderson, Bell, Yariel Diaz, Frausto, Gaines, Kerr, Jason Marll Jr., Mier, Nolyn Nickels, and O’Malley thrive at the event.
