PHOENIX — Matt Moses posted three hits and five RBI in a must-win game for Sacramento Sports Center 2023 to capture Player of the Day honors on Day 3 of pool play at the 16U National Team Championships Arizona.

Moses, who also scored twice, ripped a three-run triple to break the game open for SSC in the second inning. The 6-foot-1 outfielder later plated a pair of runs with a single up the middle to extend SSC's lead to 12-1.

Moses owns a standout .667/.733/.917 slash line through four games at the National Team Championships Arizona for SSC (3-1) and has hit safely in all four contests.

Samuel Round (Canes West Gold) spun six scoreless innings of two-hit ball to earn the Pitcher of the Day award.

Round, a right-hander, struck out nine and walked just two batters as Canes West Gold topped CBA Victus North by a 5-1 count to collect its first win at the National Team Championships Arizona.

Round maintained a 66 percent strike rate in the win, which marked his second appearance on the mound in the tournament.
