PHOENIX — Team Trinity collected its first victory at the 2021 16U National Team Championships Arizona in comeback style after it erased a three-run deficit to top CBA Wave by a 6-4 final Wednesday at Peoria Sports Complex.

Trinity strung together three consecutive hits to take a 5-4 lead. Luis Arias' RBI-single through the right side proved to be the spark plug. He later came around to score on a two-run single off the bat of George Banuelos. Gavin Klennert then gave Trinity the lead with his second hit of the afternoon, a single to left to plate Banuelos.

Klennert has two multi-hit efforts through three games at the National Team Championships Arizona for Team Trinity.

Marcos Cisneros, who entered the game trailing 4-1, earned the win in relief for Trinity. The right-hander surrendered just one hit across 3.2 scoreless frames and struck out five batters, including two in the seventh inning.

CBA Wave put the potential tying run aboard in the sixth after Colton Miller reached via an error, but Cisneros induced a fielders' choice groundout and a strikeout to negate the threat.

Team Trinity sits at 1-2 following the first two days of games at the National Team Championships Arizona. CBA Wave (0-3) remains in search of its first win of the event.
