CARY, N.C. -- USA Baseball today announced its support of the 'Play At Home' initiative created by Diamond Kinetics. The initiative encourages players, coaches and parents to continue playing and developing baseball skills at home using Diamond Kinetics' pitch and swing tracking technology and mobile applications.
The 'Play At Home' initiative originally provided a free three-month subscription to Diamond Kinetics SwingTracker and PitchTracker mobile apps; however, with the support of USA Baseball, the initiative will now expand to six months free to anyone with access to its SwingTracker Bat Sensor and PitchTracker Smart Baseball.
"USA Baseball is excited to support Diamond Kinetics' 'Play At Home' initiative," said Paul Seiler, USA Baseball's Executive Director and CEO. We are proud to assist our Diamond Kinetics partner extend their free subscription offer that will enable athletes to monitor their metrics and track their development through the summer months and into the fall season."
Included in the mobile applications is a library of free educational and instructional hitting content created in partnership between both organizations. Additionally, the educational content is also available on USA Baseball's online education platforms, including its Mobile Coach App and USABDevelops.com.
The 38 hitting drill and flaw videos can be conveniently done at home in order to encourage players to keep swinging and developing their baseball IQ. Players will also have access to the Diamond Kinetics leaderboard to track their progress and join a community of fellow athletes continuing to grow their game.
"We are very grateful that an organization like USA Baseball has given its support to the 'Play At Home' initiative," said Diamond Kinetics CEO C.J. Handron. "We are all doing our best to adapt and respond during this difficult time. We hope this gives players some sense of normalcy and helps them have fun, build their skills, and keep playing the game they love so dearly."
USA Baseball entered into a multi-year partnership with the Pittsburgh-based technology company in May of 2019, making them an official player development partner of the organization. Currently, all six national team and two national team development program members have access to the smart, sensor-based technology.
Additionally, USA Baseball currently utilizes Diamond Kinetics technology for select national team identification events and both organizations continue to collaborate on creating custom software tools to further enhance the technology and its impact on total athlete development.
