13U/14U Athlete Development Program
Dates: TBD

Athletes born Jan. 1, 2008 or later are eligible for the 2021 13U/14U Athlete Development Program.

USA Baseball uses three different identification events to select players for to the Athlete Development Program. Athletes are identified from the National Team Identification Series (NTIS), the Futures Series and National Team Championships, as well as through recommendations from scouts and coaches in the amateur baseball community.

To be considered for the Athlete Development Program, please email [email protected].

The Futures Series are three-day 11U and 13U youth championship events held throughout various parts of the country, allowing teams to showcase their abilities while competing with programs from all over. As with the Futures Invitational, the events host the best teams featuring the top youth talent in the nation.

More information about the USA Baseball Futures Series can be found here.

The USA Baseball National Team Championships is an identification event for the 13U/14U Athlete Development Program. The National Team Championships are elite championship-style events held in Arizona and North Carolina for more than 400 teams to showcase their talents against top programs and players from across the nation while being scouted for national team and development programs at USA Baseball by its task force. Age groups at the National Team Championships include 13U (NC only), 14U, 15U, 16U and 17U.

USA Baseball will invite a minimum of 40 athletes to the Athlete Development Program from the 14U National Team Championships.

*Athletes who participate in the NTIS are trying out for national teams and development programs for the following calendar year

The USA Baseball National Team Identification Series (NTIS) is the most comprehensive player identification program offered by USA Baseball. Players from across the country will begin the identification process by participating in camps and tryouts at the local level in one of six regions across the country. After camps and tryouts have been completed, each region will name 16 athletes from each of the 11U, 12U and 13U age groups, and 18 athletes from each of the 14U, 15U and 16U age groups, to an All-Region team that will participate in the NTIS Champions Cup at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.

The NTIS Champions Cup features six teams per age group and athletes will participate in workouts and a championship-style tournament while being evaluated by the USA Baseball Task Force comprised of national team coaches and scouts.

Following the Champions Cup, USA Baseball will invite a minimum of six athletes from the 12U and 13U NTIS Champions Cup event to the following year's 13U/14U Athlete Development Program.

Additional secondary events may be held throughout the year by USA Baseball that may also be used to identify players for current or future 13U/14U Athlete Development Program. These events may include any additional events held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
