CASSELBERRY, Fla.– 2024 USA Baseball 18U National Team alum Aiden Stillman co-hosted a Homegrown Clinic with USA Baseball, teaching the fundamentals of the game for over 40 kids at Red Bug Lake Park in Florida, on Saturday, June 7.

During the clinic, kids traveled from station to station, learning various skills such as base running and focusing on the fundamentals of throwing, catching, and hitting, all while being coached by one of their hometown’s most recognizable athletes. Once they had mastered the basics, the kids competed against one another, with Stillman serving as the umpire for the games.

After the games, Stillman sat down with the kids to take part in a Q&A session, answering questions about his favorite moments and what he is most excited about as he begins his college baseball journey. Nobody left without an autograph from the hometown star, as Stillman signed posters and shirts for every attendee, all to give back to the community that gave so much to him.

A significant driver in hosting this Homegrown Clinic for Stillman was one of his former coaches Matt Incinelli. Incinelli has been hosting clinics in the Winter Park area for years and has been coaching Aiden since he was nine years old.

“One of my coaches–who’s out here today–he helped shape me into the baseball player that I have become,” said Stillman. “I really loved the camps he runs for the youth kids in the area, and I thought it was a great idea to start my own because I always appreciated it.”

For Incinelli, one of the things he is most proud of is being able to see all of the things that Aiden has accomplished on and off the diamond.

“It’s great to see how much he’s accomplished,” said Incinelli. “It’s always fun to see your players go on and do big things, and no one’s done anything bigger than Aiden, so it’s been pretty cool to see.”

From playing in his hometown of Winter Park to traveling with Team USA to Panama City and soon heading off to Charlottesville, Virginia, to begin his college career at UVA, one constant that Aiden will always have is his Winter Park community.

“It meant a lot to raise my kids here,” said Aiden’s mother, Jennifer Adams. “I really believe sports are a way for the community to come together. For USA Baseball to come here and for Aiden to be a focal point that others look up to as an inspiration and as a positive role model, that is what sports are about.”

Stillman was a part of the 2024 18U National Team that won a gold medal at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup Qualifier. During that tournament, Stillman started two games, highlighted by his six shutout innings against Mexico in the quarterfinal round.

“It was definitely the biggest stage I’ve pitched on. It was a goal of mine for a while to get that opportunity and pitch for Team USA, and to do as well as I did was an awesome feeling,” said Stillman on pitching for Team USA.

Before the clinic was over, Stillman’s one piece of advice for the next generation of Winter Park baseballers was to follow your path and trust in that path.

“Everybody has their own path, there is no cookie-cutter route, everything is going to happen at the pace it is supposed to. Be okay with that. Don’t worry about what other people are doing, follow what you think is right,” said Stillman.
