
CARY, N.C. – Clemson’s Michael Sharman used just 78 pitches to spin a complete game-gem en route to earning USA Baseball’s Golden Spikes Award x D1 Baseball Week 3 Player of the Week honors.
The performance came in the Tigers’ Palmetto Series with South Carolina, as Sharman helped his team earn a 4-1 win on February 28 even the series. He managed to surrender just one earned run on four hits in his nine-inning outing to improve to 3-0 on the season. Of the 78 pitches he threw, 67 of them were for strikes.
Sharman is off to an incredible start in his senior season, as he has allowed just seven hits, one walk, and two earned runs in 20.0 innings.
