Georgia’s Daniel Jackson Named Golden Spikes Player of the Week

CARY, N.C. – Georgia’s Daniel Jackson made history over the weekend to earn Golden Spikes Award x D1 Baseball Week 14 Player of the Week honors.

He became the sixth player in Division I baseball, and first catcher ever, to hit 25 home runs and steal 25 bases in a season. He hit two home runs over the weekend to give him 27 on the year, and he swiped his 25th bag on May 16 to accomplish the feat. He finished the regular season 25-for-26 in stolen base attempts as well as an eight-game hit streak.

Jackson, who helped the Bulldogs win the 2026 SEC regular season title earlier this month, made more history over the weekend when he claimed the SEC regular season Triple Crown. He led the league with a .394 batting average, 27 home runs, and 77 RBIs, and a 1.328 OPS.

Jackson batted .600 with three RBIs, three runs scored, two walks, and two home runs to help Georgia clinch its series at Auburn.
