Round of 32

Kansas City Royals Scout Team - SWEENEY 6, Scottsdale Dirtbags 5

The number one overall seed Kansas City Royals Scout Team put together a come-from-behind walk-off win over the Scottsdale Dirtbags to keep on dancing into the round of 16. The Scout Team found itself in a 4-1 hole early, but battled back to knot it up at 4-4 in the fourth. The Dirtbags jumped back out to a 5-4 lead, but the Scout Team answered instantly. Tied up 5-5 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Richie Moore played hero and knocked in the game-winning run on a sharp single to right field, keeping championship hopes alive for his squad.

PFA National 7, Renegades 2

PFA National used some late game magic to notch down a decisive win over the Renegades. The Renegades were in control of a 2-1 lead heading all the way into the seventh inning. That’s when PFA National put together just a monster top of the seventh, plating six runs and turning the game's momentum on its head to pull off a gutsy victory.

SoCal Birds White 4, OC Premier 2027 3

A pair of wins for the SoCal Birds program was kicked off by SoCal White grinding out a 4-3 win over OC Premier. The two sides duked it out all morning, until Charlie Lemons found the 5-6 hole and grounded a base hit into left field to score Matthew Guttierez -- the decisive run. Shane Wendler then worked a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the seventh to send SoCal White into the next round.

SoCal Birds 5, MBA Green 2027 0

The next episode in the SoCal show included a dominant 5-0 for the Birds over MBA Green. Birds pitchers Cooper George, Carter Athens and Justin Savellano were lights out on the mound as the trio teamed up for 11 strikeouts opposed to just two hits over their seven innings of work. The offense piled up 11 hits to plate five runs and provide the needed support for the pitching staff to hurdle over MBA.

San Diego SHOW 10, Quakes Baseball Academy 16U 4

San Diego Show ran out to an early lead and never looked back. San Diego piled up eight runs in the first two frames en route to the eventual 10-4 final. The lethal blow came early, as Caden Lee and Jonny Sanchez laced a pair of back-to-back RBI doubles to put seven runs on the board before Quakes Baseball Academy could even have a chance to respond.

5 STAR MAFIA WEST 2027 12, Nomadic 16U Premier 6

5 Star Mafia West took a page out of San Diego’s book and put the foot on the gas early, scoring 10 runs through five innings -- six of which coming in the first four innings. Mafia tallied 12 runs to match 12 hits in the lopsided win. Cleanup hitter Kie Smith reached base four times and went a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish with two RBIs and two runs scored to headline the offensive outburst for 5 Star.

Stacked National 6, Next Level Baseball 4

Stacked National edged out Next Level Baseball in a back-and-forth contest that saw Stacked add some late game insurance to seal the deal. While leading 5-4 heading into the bottom of the fifth, Nathan Lopez added a timely insurance run via sac fly to widen the gap and give Stacked National enough of a cushion to close the door on Next Level.

Top Tier Dudes 2027 6, TB SoCal 16U 2

A balanced attack paid dividends for Top Tier as they coasted past TB SoCal 16U. Top Tier racked up 11 hits, with Santos Bermudez, Damien Nolan and Demarcus Reyes each turning in a multi-hit effort. Parker Jessup was nails out of the bullpen, posting three innings of shutout ball to close things out and bring Top Tier to the sweet 16.

GBG Vegas 9, BPA Black 2

A stellar outing from Justin Rodrigues and an offense that saw seven different players each record a hit helped power GBG Vegas to a convincing win. Rodrigues went six-strong on the mound, surrendering just two earned runs opposed to six strikeouts to keep BPA Black on its toes all afternoon.

MASH National 2027’s 8, Long Beach Bears 7

Seven innings weren’t enough to decide the contest between MASH National and the Long Beach Bears, as we had our first extra-inning action of bracket play. A three-run bottom of the sixth for Long Beach gave a huge jolt of momentum to tie things up at 7-7 with the game winding down. The seventh inning went scoreless as the eighth inning and the international tiebreaker rule awaited. An intentional walk of Nolan Rolloff loaded up the bags, where Jake Michel worked a walk of his own to go up 8-7. Michel’s heroics carried over to the mound, as he recorded a massive strikeout and then issued a game-ending 4-6-3 double play to put the cherry on top of a dramatic win for MASH National.

CBA Victus San Diego 10, Alpha Power 2027 2

A superstar performance at the plate from Deegan Cross was the driving force behind a landslide win for CBA Victus San Diego. Cross went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, a double, six total bases and four RBIs to steal the spotlight and continue his squads hopes of a deep playoff run.

West Coast Blackdogs 2027 6, Trosky Arizona 2027 Regional 5

A roaring comeback by Trosky Arizona 2027 Regional fell just short, as a four-run top of the seventh nearly completed a monumental effort. The West Coast Blackdogs did just enough to stave off Trosky’s dream, with pitcher John Burns stepping in to cool things down on the mound. Burns inherited the tying run on third and delivered a huge strikeout to come within one out of victory. He then induced a game-ending flyout to help the Blackdogs escape by the hair of their chin.

TB SoCal 10, CBA Victus 2

TB SoCal ran up a six-run first inning to push the pace before an eventual run-rule-shortened win. The big blow was landed rather early, as Ryan Burgess unloaded the bases on a three-run triple to rack up his team's sixth run in just the first inning. Pitching would remain steady, not allowing CBA Victus to creep back in at all after the early start.

RCB Elite 4, Team California Warriors Underclass 0

RCB Elite starting pitcher Deegan Martinez was arguably the headline story in the Round of 32. Martinez dazzled, going the distance to toss a complete-game shutout. He allowed just two hits, issued no walks, and rang up 10 strikeouts in an utterly dominant effort to carry RCB Elite into the Round of 16.

SD Padres Scout Team 16U 16, EJ Sports Warriors 4

The SD Padres Scout Team enjoyed an offensive explosion, with a carousel of baserunners coming around to score in bunches. A six-run third inning followed by an eight-run sixth put things well out of reach for EJ Sports. The Scout Team tallied 13 hits, including four different players who each recorded at least two hits, as they steamrolled through Round One.

GBG San Diego 5, Prime 16U 2

The final tilt in the Round of 32 included a back-and-forth affair between GBG San Diego and Prime, with GBG ultimately winding up on top. GBG maintained a 3-2 lead heading into the seventh in hopes of tacking on some insurance to widen the gap before the bottom half of seven. The call was answered in the top half, as Jake Musicant ripped an RBI double to set the table for Jesse Morales to come around to score on Wyatt Olson’s sacrifice fly. Pitcher Logan Struck would work a stress free bottom of the inning to bolt down the dub for GBG.

Round of 16

PFA National 6, Kansas City Royals Scout Team - SWEENEY 1

PFA National played spoiler to the No. 1 seed Kansas City Royals Scout team as they knocked them off in a rather one-sided affair. PFA surged out to a 6-0 lead through the first four innings as that proved to be the difference. The top three in the order – Noah Navarro, Manuel Tinajaro Christian Fregoso – teamed up to go 6-for-12 at the plate, tallying eight total bases and three RBIs to help secure a spot in the elite eight.

SoCal Birds White 13, SoCal Birds 6

Birds white slugged their way through the battle of SoCal to take care of business in the Round of 16. The high-flying offense totaled 16 hits, with six of which going for extra bases. Among the extra-base knocks included a mammoth two-run shot off the barrel of Seth Parris in the top of the seventh, putting an exclamation mark on a statement win for Birds White.

San Diego SHOW 6, 5 STAR MAFIA WEST 3

San Diego Show came out on top in a gritty battle with 5 Star Mafia West to keep on dancing into the quarterfinals. San Diego pushed the pace, preventing 5 Star to fully put itself back in the ring despite various late game rallies. 5 Star plated a run in each of the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, but San Diego was right next to them the whole time, scoring a run in the sixth and two in the seventh to keep the distance and get to the finish line.

Stacked National 7, Top Tier Dudes 6

In what was likely the tightest game of the day, Stacked National walked things off due to a Top Tier miscue to advance one step closer to the ultimate dream. A run was scored in each inning of the game, with Top Tier plating three in the sixth – but being immediately countered with Stacked adding three-runs of its own. As the game boiled down to the final outs of the sixth, Stacked National worked consecutive walks as Paxton Czubek delivered a timely single to load the bags. Top Tier would then suffer a balk, which plated the winning run for Stacked National in a highly contested game.

GBG Vegas 11, MASH National 2027’s 10

Another absolute slugfest unfolded between GBG Vegas and Mashed National 2027 in a game that featured over 20 runs scored. Despite only six hits, GBG was able to outlast Mash due to putting balls in play, applying pressure on the bases and executing when needed. Mash held a very comfortable 10-4 lead heading into the fifth, until GBG erupted for a six-spot to get back to square one and tie it up at 10-10. A leadoff walk of Randall Riley III allowed Gio Galvan to move him into scoring position on a sac bunt. Marco Montesanti hit an absolute seed over to short, where the Mash infielder got a glove on a very difficult play, but fired an errand throw that resulted in Riley III to score in walk-off fashion.

CBA Victus San Diego 15, West Coast Blackdogs 2027 8

Friday’s trend of high-flying offenses continued in another shootout, this time between CBA Victus San Diego and the West Coast Blackdogs. Victus piled up 15 runs on 14 hits, with catcher Alexander Molina leading the way, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Pitcher Dylan Pettine struck out nine as a healthy balance of explosive offense was complemented by solid pitching all around to help Victus punch a ticket to the quarters.

TB SoCal 12, RCB Elite 0

It was all TB SoCal from the get-go in this one. A six-run first inning was followed by consecutive three-run innings to put things away in just four innings for TB SoCal. Ryan Burgess stayed red hot at the dish, going 2-for-2 with a double and a triple to knock in two runs and put a stamp on a run-rule win for TB SoCal.

SD Padres Scout Team 8, GBG San Diego 1

Stellar pitching between Matthew Vigil and Jackson Casey propelled the SD Padres Scout Team to a well-rounded 8-1 victory over GBG San Diego. Vigil and Casey allowed only one run on two hits while successfully working around seven issued walks to limit the potential GBG damage. Slugger Jaivyn Francois connected on a loud swing of the bat, belting a three-run homer to put the deficit out of reach for GBG and secure a spot on Saturday for the SD Padres Scout Team.
