Rawlings Stealth Underclass Wins Gold Medal Game at 17U National Team Championships in Florida

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla.- Rawlings stealth earns the 4-3 win over 16U Royals Scout Team in the Gold Medal matchup at Roger Dean Stadium on Tuesday.
With the win, Rawlings had an overall 8-1 record at the tournament scoring a total of 61 runs while allowing 23.
The Royals Scout Team got things started putting up a two spot in the bottom half of the first frame. A lead of walk followed by a double placed runners at second at third. The very next batter, Garrett Rice, hit a double to right scoring both of the runners and making the score 2-0.
Stealth bounced back in the next inning with three runs of their own. After the first out, a drop third strike allowed for a runner to reach first. Back to back doubles hit by Brendan Roney and Bailey Uderitz plated two. A single then scored another run to take the 3-2 lead.
In the bottom of the second, the Royals Scout Team knotted it back up at three. After a pair of walks lead off the inning, a line out moved a runner over to third, and the next batter hit a sacrifice fly to bring around one runner.
The third inning plated another run for Stealth. Carmine Lane hit a single through the left side and advanced to second on the throw. In the next at bat, Ryan Bruno lined a single for their fourth run of the game.
were on the corners with two outs in the bottom of the fourth with the tying run at third for the Royals Scout Team. A backwards "K" would end the game.
The game was cut short in the fourth frame due to travel constraints and the final score was 4-3 in Rawlings favor.
Uderitz led the offense for Stealth as he went 2-for-2 with two runs batted in and no strike outs. For the Royals Scout Team, Rice was 1-for-3 tallying all three runs batted in.
On the mound, Ian Goldberg earned the save for Stealth. He pitched two thirds innings with one strikeout. Samuel Brady, of Royals Scout team, was given the loss hurling three innings while allowing four runs on six hits.
