CARY, N.C. - USA Baseball today announced the 24 players who will be advancing from this past week’s 12U National Team Training Camp in Cary, North Carolina, to Extended Training Camp. The Extended Training Camp will be held in South Florida this November, where the staff will finalize an 18-player roster to compete in the 2026 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-12 Baseball Pan American Championship. The event will take place November 20-27 in the Dominican Republic.
The decision comes at the conclusion of five days of tough practicing and high-level training for 36 young ballplayers, many of whom have played nine straight days of baseball since the beginning of the 11U Futures Invitational last week. The athletes competed head-to-head in four consecutive intrasquad scrimmages over the past four days, with Team Stars narrowly prevailing over Team Stripes with a 2-1-1 record.
“After a successful week of Training Camp, we are thrilled to reveal the final twenty-four players for this year’s 12U National Team Extended Training Camp,” said 12U National Team Program Director Cole Beeker. “Our staff was extremely impressed with the effort and focus that players brought to Training Camp day in and day out. We look forward to reconvening in November and finalizing our eighteen-man roster that we will take to the Dominican Republic."
With the first phase of Training Camp now complete, the 12U National Team staff turns its attention to completing the 2026 roster and competing for a gold medal. The program is in the midst of an historic streak of success after Team USA won its eighth gold medal in 12 years at the 2025 WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup last summer. The U.S. has medaled in six of the seven WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cups it has participated in and currently leads all nations with six world cup titles.
