CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today revealed the roster for the 2026 18U National Team Training Camp Phase 2, which is set for August 23-26 at the National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. The roster features 46 players who will compete for the final 20 spots on the 2026 18U National Team.
The final 20-player roster for this year’s 18U National Team will be named at the conclusion of Phase 2 and will compete in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Americas U-18 Pan American Championship from October 22-29 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
“Training Camp Phase 1 was extremely competitive, which led to a difficult decision-making process for the coaching staff,” said 18U National Team Program Director Brett Curll. “We are not only proud of the intensity and effort players brought each day to Phase 1, but are confident these forty-six players will do the same during Phase 2 as we move closer to finalizing our twenty-man roster.”
Five players on the Phase 2 roster bring national team experience, including two-time alum Isaac Vidal, who looks to earn his third national team selection after previously competing for the 2021 12U National Team and 2024 15U National Team. Samir Mohammed, a 2023 15U alum, will participate in Phase 2, while 2024 15U National Team teammates Camden Boehm and Cooper Collins vie for their second national team appearance. Additionally, Cullen Scott, the youngest player on the roster, will compete for his second national team stint in as many years after winning a gold medal with the 2025 15U National Team.
Rylan Jenkins and Kohen Poplin earned invites after recently competing at the 2026 16U/17U National Team Development Program (NTDP). A combined 20 players on the roster have participated in USA Baseball national team development programming, with 16 boasting 16U/17U NTDP experience, two having competed at past 13U/14U Athlete Development Programs (ADP), and Caden Borcherding and Chase Fuller bringing experience from both programs. Additionally, Dylan Seward will make a second consecutive appearance at 18U National Team Training Camp Phase 2.
Six players have participated in a past development event jointly hosted in partnership with Major League Baseball. The group is headlined by Kinon Bastian and Deuce Jenkins, both of whom have competed at multiple joint development events. Malachi Butler, Fuller, Mohammed, and Sebastian Wilson round out the group of MLB Develops alumni on the Phase 2 roster. In addition, 26 players on the roster recently participated in the seventh annual MLB High School All-American Game held in Dyersville, Iowa, including Brady Cunningham, who took home the 2026 High School Home Run Derby title as part of MLB’s All-Star Week festivities at Citizens Bank Park in July.
The 46-player roster will be split into two teams–Stars and Stripes–for Phase 2 of 18U National Team Training Camp, which will feature intrasquad scrimmages and on-field workouts. The entire 18U National Team coaching staff will be joined by eight Training Camp coaches.
Two-time 18U National Team manager Rick Eckstein will manage Team Navy, while two-time 18U alum Rick Ankiel will lead Team Red. Alongside Eckstein are 16-year major leaguer and pitching coach Joe Smith, and assistant coaches Steve Stone and Jeff Reboulet. On Team Red, 11-year pro Matt Guerrier assumes the role of pitching coach, while former professionals Brad Wilkerson and Chris Johnson will serve as assistant coaches.
The 2026 18U National Team will be led by Team USA alum and 13-year major leaguer Brian Schneider, who will make his managerial debut with the program. Eleven-year MLB reliever and two-time Team USA alum Luke Gregerson will serve as pitching coach, while former professionals Doug Mientkiewicz and Tim Raines Jr. join the staff as assistant coaches.
