CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today revealed the roster for the 2025 15U National Team Training Camp, which is scheduled for August 4-8 at the National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. The Training Camp roster will compete for 20 spots on the final 15U National Team roster.
The 15U National Team, which will be named after the conclusion of Training Camp, will compete in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-15 Pan American Championship held in Ciudad Juàrez, Mexico, from September 13-18. Since the program’s inception in 2012, the 15U National Team has compiled three gold-medal finishes (2015, 2019, 2022) and a 33-4 overall record throughout events played in Mexico.
"We are excited to welcome this exceptional group of young athletes to Training Camp and are eager to begin working with them,” said 15U National Team Director Ben Kelley. “We are equally enthusiastic about our experienced and skilled coaching staff, who will play a key role in guiding and developing these players. Our goal is to assemble the strongest roster possible as we prepare for international competition."
The Training Camp roster features nine USA Baseball alumni, including two-time alum Anthony Frausto III, who played for the 12U National Team in 2022 and the 15U National Team in 2024. Frausto helped the 12U squad win gold at the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup in Tainan, Taiwan, and led the 15U team to a perfect 5-0 record in a five-game international friendship series against Australia last fall. Additionally, eight other players from the 2022 12U National Team will battle for a spot on this year’s 15U team: Colin Anderson, Tristin Gaines, Levi Kerr, Jordan Leon, Cristian Matos, Dylan Mercado, Mateo Mier, and Trent O’Malley.
In total, 20 players on the Training Camp roster have previously participated in USA Baseball’s 13U/14U Athlete Development Program (ADP), including two-time participants Anderson, Frausto, and Kerr. Noah Jarolimek and Nateo Victorio both participated in the event in 2023, while 18 players were members of the 2024 program: Anderson, Andres Armenta, Greyson Bell, Alexander Bello, Yariel Diaz, Frausto, Gaines, Kerr, Leon, Mason MacKay, Jason Marll Jr., Matos, Mercado, Mier, Kingston Monette, O’Malley, Ethan Stewart, and Ayden White. A staple in USA Baseball’s developmental programming, the ADP features advanced on-field skills development with positional and team-fundamental drills, along with ongoing evaluation by the coaching staff. Athletes also participate in off-field educational seminars while gaining exposure to professional scouts and college recruiters.
In addition to the 42 players on the Training Camp roster, two athletes will be selected from this year’s 13U/14U ADP for a chance to represent Team USA. The ADP will run from July 31-August 3 at the National Training Complex, and the two selected players will be announced at the conclusion of the event.
The first batch of players on this year’s Training Camp roster were identified from the National Team Identification Series (NTIS) Champions Cup last August at the National Training Complex. The NTIS is the most comprehensive player identification program offered by USA Baseball, as it provides all athletes from across the United States an opportunity to compete for a spot on a USA Baseball national team.
Additionally, players coming to Training Camp were identified at the National Team Championships in North Carolina and Arizona. The National Team Championships are elite championship events which serve as the primary identification event for players to be considered for the 15U National Team as well as other USA Baseball programming.
Overall, 14 different states are represented on the 2025 15U Training Camp roster. California has 12 representatives to lead all states, followed by Texas, which has five. Four players on the roster hail from Arizona and South Carolina, respectively, while three players come from Florida. Two athletes each will make the trip from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia round out the group with one player apiece.
The 2025 15U National Team will be led by two-time Team USA pitching coach Casey Scott, who is set to make his managerial debut with USA Baseball after helping guide the 15U National Team to an unblemished record last summer. He is joined by Drew Briese, Steve Butler, and JD Pruitt on staff. The Training Camp staff also includes Stars Manager RJ Farrell and assistants Larry Vucan, Derek Simmons, and Steve Dintaman, along with Stripes Manager Jim Maciejewski and assistants Rob Shabansky, Josh Ellison, and Jonathan Pollard.
